Saint Patrick was born Maewyn Succat in his father's vill of Calpernius during the Roman rule of Britain. At the age of 16, St. Patrick was kidnapped from his father's villa and sold into slavery. However, God allowed him to overcome his obstacles. While he was in captivity he became strong in his faith. He escaped from slavery at the age of 22, returning to Britain. However, had a vision that it was his calling in life to Christianize Ireland. He traveled there, giving sermons and baptisms. Over the years, he definitely overcame adversities and was successful in establishing Christianity in Ireland and fulfilling his divine destiny.
