This piece comes from the ancient kingdom of Fermanagh. This was a small kingdom that comprised what has since become County Fermanagh in modern-day Scotland. In ancient times, the Fermanagh clan was known for its magic, if only in secret. It is one of the reasons why their kingdom was so hotly sought after and why they warred so often with neighboring clans and outside oppressors. The magic that was controlled by this Gaelic tribe we controlled by a group of wizards that is called the Council of Manach.
The Council of Manach exists today and that is from whom this magical piece has come. This piece is an original initiation ring from the Council of Manach and it celebrates their Gaelic and Irish roots with shamrocks. The ring is a direct connection to something called the Manach Woods. To be certain there are woods in Manach, however, this refers to something other than a standard woods.
The members of the Council of Manach, when it was time for their death, were sent into the woods with a satchel of powder. These powers would be sprinkled on the ground whereabout the wizard was standing. The wizard would them begin to grow roots that would extend into the ground like a tree. Then, the entirety of his body would become a tree. This tree would serve as a tree of knowledge, which could then be utilized for all the magical knowledge that the wizard had during his lifetime.
There are many wizards that have transformed this way. To the normal eye, these trees look the same as all other trees. It takes the eye of a practiced member of the Council of Manach to be able to identify these transformed trees of knowledge.
