A while ago, the story about a box dubbed the Dybbuk Box was circulating on the internet.  Without getting into too much detail, the box supposedly held some kind of malevolent spirit or bad curse.  Everybody who has come into contact with the box has had bad experiences with it.  To begin with, it was picked up at an estate sale by a man who sold it on eBay.  He in turn tried to give it away as a gift.  Nobody who received the box has ever kept it, except for Kevin Mannis, who has told reporters that the box is buried somewhere where nobody will ever find it.  The box is rumored to be so haunted that it has given people nightmares that have literally had them wake up with bruises and cuts all over their body.

While the Dybbuk Box is definitely a strange story, it is not an isolated story.  It is simply one that has, for the moment, captured the attention of Americans who thrive on the paranormal.  However, upon doing research, you will find that these types of boxes are actually very common for Jewish Kabbalists.  The idea is that the box contains a spirit of some sort-- could be an angel, could be a demon.  This box becomes the new dimension for whatever spirit has been attached to it.  It's a difficult process, but a fairly easy concept.

Not so long ago received our own "dybbuk" box.  The box was sent to us from Tomer, who sends us these kinds of oddities all the time.  The box was extremely ornate, made of cedarwood and lines with 24 karat gold.  On the front of the box was some Jewish prose.  Upon opening the box, we could immediately feel the energy of the presence.  There was no guesswork involved here, though, because Tomer had already told us.  The presence that is house inside of the box is a thousand-year-old djinn.  The djinn has seen many time periods an carries with him the rare ability to grant all wishes.  In other words, he's an ancient wishing djinn, but is one of the most powerful we have ever come across.

Soon after opening the box, this piece was already in the box - it is the original piece - we intend to keep the box to ourselves.  We want to see if we, too, are successful in creating our own Dybbuk box.  We'll let you know how it goes.  Until then, there is this piece.  This djinn will grant anything that you wish of it... literally anything.  So, happy wishing and be careful what you wish for, because you will definitely get it!!

We think that this piece is from the jewelry designer Juliana.
