In 1997, a student named Bryan Hance began to take special notice to the student newspaper, The Daily Wildcat. Shortly after he began his investigation, he noticed that the paper was full of arbitrary dates, events, and ramblings, which he grew to believe were codes for meetings, destinations, past meetings, secrets, and instructions among other encryptions. After about 10 years, the ads were eventually tracked to Robert Hungerford who admitted to having sent them in to be published but otherwise was not involved in creating or writing any part of them.

The featuring of obscure symbols, references, and calculations prove that these papers are in no way nonsensical. They are deliberate and they are being used to secretly put out messages to those who know how to decipher them. They are designed with careful effort to ensure that they do not draw suspicion. Bryan Hance was the first and only to notice, which is why he was soon contacted by the cult who was creating and putting out the newspaper. They called themselves the Orphanage.

He was not threatened as one might expect. The piece of writing he received was as obscure as the newspapers but the letter itself ended with "the day you can see the door, you will be welcomed inside". In other words, he was being recruited and the letter was full of breadcrumbs to get him there.

Exposing the cult seemed as pointless as drawing attention to their encrypted ads so he deciphered the ad and found his way into the cult. The purpose of encrypting the newspapers in the first place was specifically to draw the attention of someone like Bryan Hance so they could recruit him. Immediately afterwards, the newspapers shifted in content.

He was given this item upon initiation. It allows the wearer to see the hidden symbols of the cult, which mark sources of cultic power generated by the cult. It allows the wearer to disguise themselves to conduct cult business without being identified, the change of their voice, and even their natural human signature so they almost completely turn into someone else and nothing can be traced back to them. Additionally, the piece allows you choose things that you see and hear and immediately commit it to memory.

This ring is sterling silver.
